Conversion to Islam has been an ongoing trend in Singapore for many years, with a significant number of individuals from various ethnic and religious backgrounds embracing the religion. This research hopes to explore enablers and challenges faced by new converts in their journey to be adherents of the Islamic faith in Singapore.

MCAS has commissioned this project to Centre for Research on Islamic and Malay Affairs (RIMA), which will independently conduct the research in its entirety to maintain full confidentiality and impartiality.

This survey has 4 sections and will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.Your input is valuable as the findings will be used to assess and make improvements to programmes and services provided by MCAS for converts like yourself.

Definitions:
• Pre-conversion: Period before conversion until official conversion at MCAS.
• Post-conversion: Period after your official conversion at MCAS until now.

All responses are anonymous, and any identifying information will be removed by MCAS before sharing the data with RIMA to ensure confidentiality. Findings also will be made strictly internal and all outputs for this exercise will not be made public. The recorded data will be handled according to the provisions within the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) (https://www.pdpc.gov.sg/Overview-of-PDPA/The-Legislation/Personal-Data-Protection-Act/Data-Protection-Obligations).
